Safer than email — documents are transmitted directly through NetLegal with bank grade security instead of bouncing around the Internet.
Greener than paper — you can reduce the carbon footprint of your cases by receiving documents electronically.
On your terms — make e-filing mandatory or permissive. Have counsel manually file a courtesy copy after the filing deadline so you still get a paper version.

Be Greener with CaseFiling

With NetLegal, you can reduce your paper usage by receiving your documents electronically.

How you receive e-filings with CaseFiling

For court filings, clerks and registry officers will be notified via email that there is a document awaiting their review. Once the clerk or registry officer accepts the document, the judge will be notified via email or BlackBerry that a document has been e-filed in their case.

Arbitrators and mediators will be notified as soon as the document is e-filed as there is no clerk or registry officer that accepts the filing for them.

How you set up CaseFiling
  1. Enter the case name and details.
  2. Enter the parties and email addresses of their counsel.
  3. Choose the e-filing options for your case.
  4. Choose or invite a clerk or registry officer (courts only).

NetLegal will do the rest, inviting the lawyers to join NetLegal and handling the support if there are any problems.

E-filed documents will be converted to pdf by NetLegal and you can download or access them remotely via NetLegal.

You can also be invited to join a pre-existing case by one of the parties to a case. You can then set the e-filing options and invite the clerk or registry officer to join.
